Privacy policy
The short version
- We collect what you give us to run your projects, plus what we need to run your account and billing.
- We send your product details to AI model and data providers to do the research. They process it for us; we don't sell it.
- We never see or store your card number. Stripe handles payments.
- Email hello@gtmscape.com to get a copy of your data or have it deleted.
1. What we collect
Your account
Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. We store a normalized form of your email to stop one person opening many accounts for the starter allowance.
What you put into a project
Product descriptions, features, pricing, customers, competitors, interview notes, chat messages, and anything you edit. When you ask us to read a website, we fetch its public pages and keep the draft we make from them. When you paste text to start a project, we use it to make a draft and keep only the draft and the text's length, not the text itself.
What we make for you
Segments, scores, market sizes, forecasts, interview guides and lists of people to talk to. Those lists are built from public sources and can include names, job titles, companies and public profile links of people outside GTMscape.
Billing
Your credit balance and history, subscription, promo codes used, and the payment records Stripe sends us (amount, date, status, and your card's brand and last four digits).
Technical data
IP address, browser and device details, and logs of requests and errors, used to run the service, keep it secure and stop abuse. We also count page views in aggregate to see which pages people use.
2. How we use it
- To run the research and the features you ask for.
- To sign you in and send account email, such as sign-in links and receipts.
- To take payments, add credits and keep the ledger.
- To stop fraud and abuse of the starter allowance and promo codes.
- To fix problems and improve GTMscape. We may use anonymized, aggregated market facts from research across projects to improve results. We never show your product details to other customers.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your project content to train AI models. We may keep public market facts our research finds, such as figures and the public sources they came from, to make future research faster. We never keep your private inputs or your contacts for this.
3. Who processes it
We use these service providers to run GTMscape. Each processes data only for us.
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting the website and app, and counting page views in aggregate (Vercel Web Analytics) |
| Neon | Database where your account and projects are stored |
| Trigger.dev | Running long research steps in the background |
| Anthropic and other AI model providers | Reading your product details and sources to produce research and chat answers |
| Data and search providers | Web search, website reading and public company and people data, reached through treg |
| Stripe | Payments, subscriptions and receipts |
| Resend | Sending sign-in and account email |
| Sign-in with Google, if you choose it |
Research queries about public markets may go to any of these providers. We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a buyer if GTMscape is sold, under this policy.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and projects while your account is open. When you delete your account we delete your projects within 30 days, except billing records we must keep for tax and accounting, which we keep for 7 years, as tax law requires.
6. Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete your projects in the app. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights, including to object to processing or to complain to a data protection authority.
If you appear in a list of people to talk to and want to be removed, email us and we'll remove you from our records.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers. Each project is visible only to its account. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you.
8. Children
GTMscape is for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 18.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll email you before they take effect.
